I recently went to Trinidad to Minister with Pastors Harry and Dolly Ramkissoon and I cannot tell you how impressed I was by the work that they have done there. Here is a brief report of it.
Jesus said in John 4:35 to lift up your eyes and look unto the fields for they are ripe already to harvest. For many years, the Lord Jesus has burdened my heart to let the people of my community, especially those that are less fortunate, poor and downtrodden know of the hope that we have in Jesus Christ.
After much prayer, consultation and deliberation, the New Hope Outreach Ministry was started in our garage on January 27th, 1999.
Every Thursday at 11:00 a.m., the Word of God is preached, a hot meal is served and a few grocery items are given to every family that attends.
At
the inception of this outreach, our intention was to lead the people to the Lord
Jesus and direct them to the churches in our community. However, those in the
community did not catch the vision, so the New Hope Outreach Centre had to be
constructed because the crowd was growing larger and continues to grow.
The People of New Hope Outreach Ministry
The ministry has grown from 12 people to approximately 150 on Thursdays. Presently, we are in touch with over 550 families. These homes are visited weekly and many have found Christ as their Savior.
The need arose to teach the Word of God further, so on Monday evenings at 6:00 p.m., there is Prayer and Bible Study. Almost every family has received a copy of the Bible.
There is also a youth arm of this outreach that meets every quarter for a youth rally. We have about 100 youths in attendance.
There are several areas of ministry that will be launched as soon as the Centre is completed.
